Children's Museum
of Maine - Located in the Arts District in downtown Portland, the Children's Museum of Maine features a wide variety of interactive exhibits and activities for children and families!
Including: Our Town, which features a lobster boat, an
interactive supermarket, a vet clinic, a fire truck, a farm, a
soft gated play-and-learn area for toddlers, and a car repair
shop; Talking Walls: Discover Your World, introduces kids to the
many walls in cultures all over the world. Explore Floor, a
series of interactive science exhibits depicting the natural
resources of the State of Maine. Exhibits feature a Ranger
Station, climbing wall, water table, tree house, yellow
submarine, and tide pool touch tank.
Seacoast
Trolley Museum - Ride by rail through the Maine countryside aboard one of our restored early 1900's electric streetcars. Witness the sights and sounds of a very important bygone era in American transportation history.
Learn how streetcars moved the people who built our major cities, and how they helped develop the suburbs surrounding them.
Strawbery Banke
- Strawbery Banke, the museum, is dedicated to the study of the lives of these people and others who left their mark on Portsmouth's history. A few are well known: Washington and Lafayette, Daniel Webster and John Paul Jones, Paul Revere and Admiral George Dewey. But most were more typical figures, merchants and seamen, fathers and mothers, native born and immigrant. Strawbery Banke's mission extends to all of these people, rich and poor, and to all periods of history, from colonial times to the present.
