The Lafayette Family Foundation

We at Lafayette Hotels have pledged 2 million dollars to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer, Maine – one million to help fund the building and one million to endow a fund to do cancer research. The Lafayette Family of Hotels is committed to helping find cures at this world-class center in Maine. We believe that the Center will bring help and hope to cancer patients and their families. Our 27 properties located in Maine, New Hampshire, and Michigan are all participating in fundraisers for this effort.  Nancy Cayford, an associate at the Fireside Inn & Suites in Waterville, raised over $1,000 with a yard sale she organized and sponsored. The Black Bear Inn Conference Center and Suites sells stuffed black bears, and the Fireside Inn & Suites in Waterville sells bottles of water. The Best Western White House Inn sells stuffed moose, as well as hosting the Run for Hope 5K which raised $26,000 last year. All proceeds from these fundraisers stay in Maine.  These are just a few of many fundraising efforts happening throughout the year. The Lafayette family have also made generous personal donations along with paying their staff to organize, work on, and participate in many of the fundraisers. Find out about upcoming events here.
	Lafayette Hotels is headquartered in eastern Maine and employs over 1,000 people. In addition to many other local charities, we make numerous donations to organizations such as: University of Maine, the Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health, and the Lafayette Family Cancer Center to find cures for cancer – to name a few.
